In times of multiple crises – climate change, geopolitical conflicts and economic uncertainties – agriculture is an indispensable pillar of Austria’s critical infrastructure. It ensures food security, strengthens regional production and reduces dependencies on global supply chains. Sustainable agriculture also protects essential resources such as soil and water and strengthens the resilience of our society.
These topics were the focus of the conference “Landwirt schaf(f)t Sicherheit”, organized by ACIPSS, the Austrian Society for National Defence and Security Policy in Styria and the Styrian Chamber of Agriculture.
Highlights of the discussion:
International developments in agricultural policy
Threats to the security of supply
Regional potential in Styria
Agriculture is much more than food production – it secures stability and the future in times of crisis.
Many thanks to all speakers and participants for the valuable exchange!
