Extreme attitudes and behaviors are increasingly shaping social discourse: right-wing radical protests and left-wing counter-protests, disinformation on the internet, anti-feminist and queer-hostile hate postings as well as acts of violence against declared “enemies”. Especially since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the recent Gaza war, the boundaries of what is considered extreme have shifted noticeably.
In the continuation of the lecture series from the winter semester 2024/25, renowned experts from research and practice will analyze the most important extremist movements from March to June 2025 and discuss their effects with the audience.
The event is jointly organized by the Institute for Legal Studies, the Extremism Prevention Office Styria and ACIPSS and supported by the Rectorate of the University of Graz.
Scope of the course: 3 ECTS credits
When? From March 5, 2025, every Wednesday, 5:15 – 6:45 pm
Where? Aula of the University of Graz (main building, 1st floor, Universitätsplatz 3)
