On August 9, 2024, JIPSS publisher Dieter Bacher appeared on “Zeit im Bild 1” at 19:30 on the topic of messenger surveillance. Bacher emphasized that although the monitoring of messenger services is an important part of the fight against terrorism, it is only one of many methods and sources of information that intelligence services have to use.
