On Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025, ACIPSS and Sicher Leben invited guests to a lecture at the University of Graz. Under the title “Online Jihad – Theological and Ideological Backgrounds of Islamist Influencers,” Imet Mehmedi and Amrei Martschinke provided a multifaceted insight into a highly topical issue.
In addition to a theological classification, the focus was on strategic communication and ideological mobilization by Islamist influencers. The speakers presented current examples, analyzed their content, and explained how language, symbolism, and staging are used to promote radicalization in the digital space.
The event met with great interest and was followed by an intensive discussion with the audience.
