On March 24, 2025, Lucas M. Schubert, a member of ACIPSS, appeared as an expert on information warfare and disinformation in the evening news program of Puls24. In the interview, he explained how targeted online propaganda is used to deepen societal divides and deliberately intensify polarization between opposing camps of opinion.
The interview was prompted by an investigation conducted by the Austrian Directorate of State Protection and Intelligence (DSN), which uncovered a Russian disinformation campaign targeting Ukraine. A Bulgarian national is suspected of having spied for Russia and deliberately spread false information while operating in Austria.
