RVO Extremism – Marlon Possard and Martina Kollegger on the phenomenon of deniers of the state

On Wednesday, 4 June 2025, the burning current and complex phenomenon of state objectors was the focus of the lecture series Extremism in the auditorium of the University of Graz, organized by the Institute for Legal Studies, the Extremism Prevention Office Styria and the Austrian Center for Intelligence, Propaganda and Security Studies (ACIPSS) and supported by the Rectorate of the University of Graz.

The speakers, who enlightened the audience on this topic, are firstly Dr. Marlon Possard, Assistant Professor of Law, Administration and Ethics. He teaches and conducts research at the Department of Administration, Economics, Security and Politics and the Research Center Administrative Sciences (RCAS) at FH Campus Wien – University of Applied Sciences, and secondly his colleague Martina Kollegger, BA, BA, a sociologist and research assistant to Marlon Possard. Both work on the topic of the lecture at the Research Center for State Denial and Subversive Extremism (FSTE)

With in-depth knowledge and a high level of dynamism, they offered the audience comprehensive insights into this very heterogeneous movement from a philosophical, legal, sociological and political perspective, whose lowest common denominator is the rejection or denial of the rule of law / the constitutional state. No less knowledgeable, they answered all of the numerous questions from the audience and thus contributed to a better understanding of this rapidly growing movement, which in some cases does not shy away from physical violence.

We would like to thank them for their valuable contribution to the lecture series on extremism and hope for future cooperation!
