How do fake news and disinformation influence our society? What role do social media, algorithms and filter bubbles play? And what can each individual do to recognize manipulation and protect themselves from it?
ACIPSS researchers Cordula Simon and Stefan Auer address these questions in their new article “Disinformation and Fake News – Challenges and Proposed Solutions”, published in the current issue of the specialist journal GRC aktuell – Governance – Risk – Compliance – Management.
The authors analyze the mechanisms and effects of targeted misinformation and present practical solutions to strengthen media literacy and counteract manipulation.
