On August 14, 2024, Paul Schliefsteiner was a live guest on the news program “ORF III aktuell” to comment on the ongoing discussion about the planned surveillance of messengers. Schliefsteiner explained that the current proposals are not very promising from the perspective of the intelligence services and are aimed more at criminal law measures.
