David Jaklin in edited volume Agents of Violence

Titled “Agents of Violence. Non-Governmental Armed Forces in Southwest Asia, North Africa and beyond”, the 28th volume of the edited series Religion and Transformation in Contemporary Society was recently published.

Among the authors is ACIPSS researcher David Christopher Jaklin, who writes about the Turkish Private Military Company (PMC) SADAT in his contribution. In the article, he not only sheds light on the use of the PMC as a proxy and informal security structure in Turkey, but also examines the extent to which it can be compared with the Russian Wagner Group.

The volume, edited by Rüdiger Lohlker and Katharina Ivanyi, is published by Brill | Schöningh Verlag:
